Pharma Hits Fresh Highs as Realty and Media Test Recent Peaks

Nifty 50 (INDEXNSE:NIFTY_50) closed the week at 24,175.65, continuing to chop within its recent range as sector rotation remains selective underneath. Realty, Pharma, and Media are all confirming leadership together this week, though the maturity of each trend differs meaningfully.

Pharma stands apart as the most established of the three, trading at a fresh high with its moving averages clearly separated and rising. Realty and Media are both real recoveries too, but younger ones, each sitting right at a recent peak with their moving averages only just converging rather than showing the same separation Pharma has built.

Pharma

INDEXNSE:NIFTY_PHARMA is at 26,991.85, a fresh high on the chart, up 1.72% over the past month. The three and six month trend remains firmly intact, and relative strength versus Nifty has stayed solidly positive throughout, with both moving averages clearly separated and rising underneath price. This is the most mature and confirmed of this week’s leaders, consistent strength that keeps extending rather than just holding.

Realty

INDEXNSE:NIFTY_REALTY is at 908.85, sitting right around the high it made in July and August after a sharp recovery off its April lows. The three and six month trend is strongly positive and relative strength versus Nifty has been building, but the moving averages have only just crossed and remain close together rather than clearly separated. This looks like a real but younger recovery testing its recent peak, worth watching for whether it can push through or needs more time to build a base.

Media

INDEXNSE:NIFTY_MEDIA is at 1602.9, also sitting right at a recent high after a sharp recovery off deep lows earlier in the year. Like Realty, the three and six month trend is strongly positive, but the moving averages are only just converging rather than showing Pharma’s clearer separation. This is genuine strength, but a less mature trend than Pharma’s, still proving itself at current levels.

FMCG

INDEXNSE:NIFTY_FMCG is at 46,815, down 4.69% over the past month. The weakness compounds further out, both the three and six month windows show ongoing softness and relative strength against Nifty stays negative throughout. This continues to look structural, with no sign yet of stabilizing.

PSE

INDEXNSE:NIFTY_PSE is at 9689.25, down 2.54% over the past month. The three and six month trend also remains negative, and relative strength versus Nifty has stayed weak across every window. This looks like sustained underperformance rather than a temporary dip.

Bottom line: Pharma is this week’s most confirmed leader, trading at a fresh high with a clearly established trend, while Realty and Media are both real but younger recoveries testing recent peaks rather than extending established trends. FMCG and PSE remain structurally weak with no signs of turning. For swing traders, Pharma currently offers the cleanest trend backdrop, while Realty and Media names deserve a closer look at how they behave right at these recent highs before assuming the leadership extends smoothly.
